FAQ

Are you meeting in person at this time?

Not at this time.

Telehealth has become more accepted and has been effective. But I am hopeful and looking forward to returning to in-person soon.

How do I get a free consult?
If you’re in Texas, please call me at (512) 983-1550; if you’re in California, please call (310) 770-5734. Or complete the contact form at the bottom of the page.
Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance. Most insurance companies want an immediate diagnosis. I prefer to figure out the real problem and then determine the correct diagnosis and the proper treatment plan. Many times, what we think is the problem is not the case.

I will work with you on a sliding scale basis if necessary if the fit is right, and I believe I can help.

What are your rates?

My rates are $150-$500 per session. I do work on a sliding scale (reduced rate) if I believe we’re a good fit, and I can help. Please use my offer of a free 20-minute telephone consultation so we can discuss.

What does a guy know about Disordered Eating?

Ugh, after 15+ years, I still hear this. In the beginning, I was told that I had two strikes against me – first, I didn’t have an eating disorder, and second, I’m a guy.

One of the highest compliments I receive from clients and professionals is “that I get it.” I know that it is a special language and takes a particular understanding.

Although I have had kids come in stating that they would prefer a female therapist (and I have no problem referring out), every kid that has come into my office has decided that “I’m okay” and “that they want to work with me.”

Besides, my approach includes the entire family, and that is where I do my best work. I’ll let my successes speak for themselves.

Any additional questions not discussed above?

Please call me: (512) 983-1550. I’m happy to answer any additional questions you may have.
